The Health and Wellness Cooperative Story

Health and Wellness Cooperative was founded in 2008 in Glasgow, by Dhruv and  Francesca.

In those days, Dhruv was a qualified post graduate Cancer Research Scientist embarking on a medical degree as a mature student and Francesca was a trainee massage therapist and volunteer. Many years of training combined with excellent life experiences have resulted in a specialist knowledge of Health and Wellness.

Over the years, Dhruv has been as a medical doctor in the NHS, excelling in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine and Palliative care. As an Associate Specialist, he developed a passion for Mind-Body medicine, which was so evident in the Hospice environments he worked in.  More recently, in the Healthcare Analysis sector, he solidified the need to 'Make a Difference' in a society with ever growing mental and physical health needs. He is able manage people, not just with medicine of the body, but also, healing of the mind. Dhruv is fully aware that medication is just one step in holistic healthcare management. In his experience, he finds that people can become fed up with medication after medication or too dependent on the medical way of treatment, to the detriment of other areas.

As our Doctor, Dhruv is passionate about the integration of complementary and holistic care into everyday medical practices. He will work with a clients existing healthcare professionals to bridge any gaps that may exist to improve the overall health and wellness of each client.

Francesca, a naturally holistic and caring  person has supported and encouraged the growth of Dhruv's learning, whilst building her own skills. With 10 years of therapeutic massage experience, Francesca has the true "therapists touch" and tailors all therapies to the clients needs. She is also a mature student at the University of Derby, completing yet another qualification, (BSc International Spa and Wellness Management). As a therapist who has travelled to the far east, she spent time in Cambodia and played a key role in Scar Tissue Massage Therapy for underprivileged, highly traumatised people. Francesca, has also extended her skills to working with complex behavioural and hearing impairments in Italy. Being a well rounded therapeutic massage therapist, Francesca integrates soft tissue release, aromatherapy, sports therapy, relaxation therapies, deep tissue therapy and myofascial  approaches into her arsenal of techniques.  She is the inspiring force behind Health and Wellness Cooperative and is passionate about making the difference through the power of complementary and holistic therapy each day.
